The Federal Government is revamping the admission process for higher education institutions in Nigeria, removing the mathematics requirement for arts students to improve accessibility and inclusivity.
This announcement was made on Tuesday through a statement issued by Boriowo Folasade, who is the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education.

The initiative, led by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at fostering inclusive education as a key driver for national progress.
With this updated policy, the criteria for admission to universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and Innovation Enterprise Academies (IEAs) will be relaxed, allowing students applying for certain arts and humanities programs to forgo the math requirement.
