Key lawmakers, including Adams Noheem, Mojeed Fatai, and Richard Kasunmu, were involved in the final deliberations before the bill was approved. It will now be sent to the state governor for his official assent.

However, the legislative session was also marked by serious discussions about the growing insecurity across the country. Assembly members condemned the recent wave of violent incidents and held a minute of silence to honour the victims.

Speaker Mudasiru Obasa voiced grave concern over the killing of a serving Army General, calling the attack a disturbing sign of the nation’s deteriorating security situation.

Legislators also addressed the alarming increase in kidnappings, specifically mentioning a recent abduction in Kebbi State.

They called on the state government and security agencies to intensify their efforts to rescue the children and return them to their families.

An attack inside a church in Kwara State was also condemned, with lawmakers noting that such incidents highlight the increasing danger citizens face, even in places once considered safe havens.

The Assembly concluded by resolving to formally convey its concerns to the Lagos State Government and military authorities, urging them to take more decisive action to tackle the escalating security challenges.
