K1 De Ultimate had previously sought a court order through an ex-parte application to prevent the respondents from advancing with the Awujale nomination process until his main case was resolved. However, during a recent court hearing, the ex-parte application was denied, and the court instead mandated an expedited hearing of the primary suit.

Following the court’s ruling, the applicant chose to discontinue the entire lawsuit.
In the notice submitted to the court, Ayinde explained that the legal action stemmed from a communication from the second respondent requesting nominations for the Awujale position. He noted that the subsequent retraction of the correspondence led him to decide to drop the case.
The notice also requested the court to acknowledge the discontinuation formally and to issue any necessary orders as it saw fit.
K1 De Ultimate has expressed interest in vying for the vacant Awujale position but was reportedly turned down by the Funsengbuwa Royal Family on the grounds that he is not an acknowledged member of the ruling house. He holds the title of Olori Omooba of Ijebuland, which he acquired through the Fidipote Royal Family, not the Funsengbuwa Royal Family.
While the withdrawal of the suit seems to remove the legal obstacle regarding the Awujale nomination process, it remains uncertain whether the musician might file a new suit if the local government issues another call for nominations for the esteemed position.
