The move, according to NELFUND, is part of its proactive commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment for staff and visitors.

NELFUND explained that during the period, only minimal staff presence has been approved for essential on-site duties, while the majority of employees will work remotely. Special consideration, the Fund noted, has been given to pregnant women and women of child-bearing age due to potential health risks associated with fumigation.

Speaking on the development, the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, emphasised that staff safety remains a top priority. He stated that while the fumigation exercise is necessary, deliberate steps have been taken to ensure that no employee is unnecessarily exposed to health risks.

Despite the temporary closure of its physical office, NELFUND reassured the public that its core operations including loan processing, stakeholder engagement, internal coordination, and service delivery will continue seamlessly. NELFUND attributed this continuity to its robust digital infrastructure and established remote work framework.

NELFUND further described the adjustment as a demonstration of responsible governance and institutional foresight, highlighting how technology can be leveraged to sustain uninterrupted public service delivery.

The Fund appealed to stakeholders and the general public for understanding and cooperation during the period, reiterating its commitment to transparent, efficient, and student-focused education financing services nationwide.
