Christmas: Speaker Abbas provides five trailers of rice to 1,000 churches in Kaduna north senatorial district

Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has delivered five trailers of rice to more than 1,000 churches in the Kaduna North Senatorial District to aid the Christian community in their Christmas festivities.

The Kaduna North Senatorial District, also referred to as Zone 1, includes the Local Government Areas of Zaria, Sabon Gari, Makarfi, Kudan, Ikara, Kubau, Soba, and Lere. The recipients of this donation were chosen from various churches across these eight local government areas.

In total, 3,165 bags of 50kg rice were distributed with the support of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in each locality.

The distribution event occurred between December 21 and December 22 at the Speaker’s Constituency Office located in the Dan-Magaji area of Zaria.

During the event, Malam Iliyasu Muhammad Balarabe, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker on Administration, stated that the initiative was designed to assist Christians in the district as they get ready for Christmas celebrations.

He noted that the recipients were judiciously chosen, emphasizing that this effort reflects the Speaker’s dedication to providing support and fostering unity among the community.
