Suspended Super Eagles goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka has appealed to the League Management Company (LMC) to grant him a fair hearing amid ongoing betting allegations that have halted his career.

“I have been waiting for the LMC to invite me so I can defend myself, but until now, I have heard nothing,” Adeyinka said, expressing frustration at the lack of communication.
He added that he had been advised to hire a lawyer but was unable to afford one.
Adewinka commended Shooting Stars for their professionalism, praising the club’s new sporting director for handling the matter transparently.

After passing his medicals, he was presented with a contract that included a betting clause, allowing termination if a player was found guilty of betting.
The former Plateau United goalkeeper questioned how involvement in betting is determined, warning against relying on speculation and rumours without concrete proof. He disclosed that Plateau United had terminated his contract based on suspicion over a match he never even played in.
According to Adeyinka, Shooting Stars later amended the clause to ensure any disciplinary action would only be taken if clear evidence existed.
Now, the goalkeeper is urging the LMC to convene a joint session involving himself, Plateau United, and Shooting Stars to address the matter transparently.

“I just want the opportunity to clear my name and defend myself against these allegations,” he insisted.
The LMC is yet to respond publicly to Adeyinka’s request.
