Ndidi’s caution against Algeria was his second of the knockout phase, having also been booked during the Super Eagles’ Round of 16 win over Mozambique. Under AFCON disciplinary rules, the accumulation of yellow cards results in a suspension.
The absence of the experienced midfielder is a significant blow for Nigeria ahead of one of their toughest tests of the tournament.
With Ndidi sidelined, Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika is expected to step into the starting lineup for the high-stakes encounter in Rabat.
Onyedika has impressed in his appearances so far and offers defensive solidity and energy in midfield.
