Continuing to dominate possession, Tunisia doubled its lead with a display of clinical finishing. Ali Abdi delivered an accurate cross from the left, which Elias Achouri met with a composed right-footed strike into the top right corner.
Achouri proved to be a constant threat and added a third goal in the 64th minute. The winger was the first to react to a loose ball inside the penalty area, slotting a rebound past Ugandan goalkeeper Jamal Salim to put the game firmly out of reach.
Uganda found a late consolation goal in the second minute of stoppage time through Denis Omeldi, but it was not enough to challenge Tunisia’s control over the match.
The victory gives Tunisia a strong start in Group C. Their next challenge will be against Nigeria on December 27, while Uganda will aim to recover when they face Tanzania.
