The role also involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, timely processing of transactions, and providing financial analysis and strategic insights to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial reports
- Ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of financial transactions
- Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Monitor revenue, receivables, collections and payment processes
- Support cash flow planning and treasury management
- Ensure timely statutory remittances (taxes, pensions and other obligations)
- Support budget preparation, forecasts and financial planning
- Conduct financial analysis and provide variance reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent (required)
- 4–6 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within the power sector
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, treasury operations, budgeting and internal controls
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills
- Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills
- High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
