Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has vowed that his team will be going all out for victory when they face Sudan in their second Group B match at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Zanzibar.

 

Nigeria suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to defending champions Senegal in their opening fixture, leaving them in a must-win situation to keep their qualification hopes alive.

The clash against Sudan is scheduled for Tuesday at the Amman Stadium, with the Eagles needing nothing short of a positive result to avoid the risk of an early exit from the tournament.

 

Speaking ahead of the game, Chelle underscored the importance of securing maximum points.

“It’s a big game, it’s an important game (vs Sudan), we need to win tomorrow and after that we will see,” the coach said.

 

Nigeria will be banking on a more clinical performance after struggling to convert their chances against Senegal. The Eagles are also expected to make tactical adjustments as they seek their first points in the competition.

The CHAN tournament, reserved exclusively for players who play in their country’s domestic leagues, has been a proving ground for emerging talents.
