The defence minister highlighted that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day aims to honor fallen heroes while recognizing the sacrifices made by current personnel and their families.

“The purpose is to ensure that our Armed Forces personnel are remembered and appreciated for their sacrifices, along with the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice,” he said.

He further noted that the event serves to boost the morale of active troops and reaffirm the Federal Government’s commitment, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to their welfare and operational efficiency.

General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Staff, added that the President has given a clear directive to the Armed Forces to maintain peace and security throughout the nation.
