Addressing the assembly, Otunba Owoyemi explained the next steps in the selection process. He stated that the names of candidates who successfully pass the initial screening will be submitted to the Afobajes, or kingmakers.
According to Owoyemi, the kingmakers will then deliberate and select a single candidate from the shortlisted names. This chosen individual’s name will subsequently be forwarded to the Ogun State Government for final approval as the next Awujale.
He also noted that any parties with grievances regarding the selection process are free to direct their concerns to the state government.
