Kukoyi said that Gbajumo Osere, which went on to become one of the most sought after talk shows on cable TV for 11 years, was very challenging to her at first.
Narrating her experience to virtual audience, Kukoyi, an alumnus of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, said that as a typical Yoruba show, she as a presenter was not expected to infuse English or any other languages into the presentation.

She however, said that in her maiden presentation, she failed on a few occasions, but went on to correct herself in subsequent episodes and became perfect.
She said: “Gbajumo Osere came to me as a challenge. When we started the programme, Mr. Afolabi Ogunjobi (now late), my director, taught me the deep Yoruba language, but the first episode was disastrous because I injected English language into the presentation, but the programme was supposed to be a pure Yoruba talkshow.
“Also, a lot of people taught me several things behind the scenes. But, gradually, we grew and I improved a great deal. After a few years, the programme became a household name.
However, 11 years later, I decided to start my own show known as Eto Adedoyin on DoyinkukoyiTv simply because I wanted something different and dynamic.”
Kukoyi, who is also an actress and had featured in numerous movies over the last 28 years of her acting career, advised aspiring actors to create their own identity and be authentic.
Unlike others who met brickwalls from their parents in their aspiration to become actors, Kukoyi expressed that her late father was a major supporter and critique of her acting roles.

Kukoyi, a mother of three, ascribed her scandal-free career, spanning close to three decades to the grace of God.
“I am not perfect, but I know my lane, challenges and I am not seeking validation from people. This has really helped me a lot. I separate my private life from my public life,” she added.
Kukoyi also revealed plans to premier her maiden movie on August 22, 2025, titled: ‘Flip.’
She explained that the movie would be shown on her Youtube channel – DoyinkukoyiTv.
She mentioned Anta Laniyan, Joke Silva, Sola Fosudo, Bimbo Manuel and Lanre Hassan as some of her role models in the film industry, but insisted she had good relationships with everyone in the acting profession.
