Edun Propels Nigerian Boxers Ahead Of Ghana Friendly

The president of the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) Hon. Wale Edun has urged Nigerian boxers to give a good account of themselves in Thursday’s friendly tournament against their Ghanaian counterparts in Accra.

Edun gave the charge in his message to the pugilists at the National camp in Lagos on Monday. He encouraged the boxers to stay focused in their training and be worthy ambassadors of the country in their trip to Ghana.

In his words: Firstly, I want you all to be conscious of our national flag which you carry, you must do so with pride, the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana has no exception, despite being a friendly match you must fight for the pride of our nation”. Edun told the team.

The seventeen (17) man contingent, which consists of boxers, coaches, and officials, will depart for Accra via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos at 7:00 am on Wednesday May 6th.

The bilateral tournament aimed to assess both countries’ athletes’ performance and readiness ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games will be held this Thursday at the
Accra Sports Stadium.
