Four men lost their lives in Lagos due to a conflict that escalated into communal violence at the Power Line Bus Stop in the Ikola area of Alimosho Local Government on Thursday. Several others sustained injuries during the chaos.
According to a report by Punch Newspaper, the altercation began between a northerner and an individual believed to be a former cult leader. It was reported that the northerner stabbed the suspected cult leader, leading to a violent clash that required assistance from police at the Meiran Division.

Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, confirmed the deaths of the four men. He mentioned that the agency received an emergency call about a fire in the area around 1:52 PM and responded within approximately 25 minutes.

The unrest resulted in the destruction of various makeshift structures, and emergency responders provided medical aid to those injured. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service successfully controlled the fire, while a coordinated security effort involving the police, Nigerian Army, NSCDC, and Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps was implemented to restore order.
