Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its failure to address the growing insecurity in Nigeria.
In an interview with News Central, Obasanjo stated that any government that cannot protect the lives and property of its citizens lacks the legitimacy to remain in power.

His comments come in response to a rise in violence and abductions that have resulted in numerous fatalities. “A government that cannot ensure the security of its citizens has no right to exist,” he asserted.

Additionally, he condemned members of Nigeria’s National Assembly for setting their own salaries and allowances, asserting that such authority is not granted to them by the Constitution and should be handled by the revenue mobilization and allocation commission.
