The group issued the warning on Tuesday during the inauguration of its local government structures across Ondo’s 18 council areas, insisting that President Tinubu remains politically unchallenged ahead of the next general election.
Their statement comes amid widespread reports suggesting that Jonathan is considering a return to the presidential race under a yet-to-be-identified political party.
The speculation recently prompted a legal practitioner, Johnmary Jideobi, to file a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking an injunction to stop Jonathan from running in 2027.

Speaking at the event, the group’s Director-General, Olumide Obadele, said Jonathan should preserve his image as a respected statesman by staying out of the contest. He also dismissed concerns that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was uneasy about Jonathan’s possible candidacy.
“I can tell you that Jonathan will not run at the end of the day. The Constitution is clear about it, and there’s no need to twist it. If he insists, he will only end up embarrassed and rubbished,” Obadele said.

He added that opposition parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) are “on life support,” arguing that no candidate, including Jonathan, could unseat Tinubu in 2027.
Obadele maintained that beyond legal barriers, the political landscape favours continuity under Tinubu, describing the president’s administration as one that is “laying the foundation for lasting national transformation.”
