Hon. Sadiq Ango bows out from PDP, cites internal disputes

Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, the representative for Sabon Gari in the House of Representatives, has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing ongoing internal disputes and division within the party as his reasons.

In a letter to the PDP Ward Chairman of Hanwa Ward in Sabon Gari Local Government Area, dated October 13, 2025, Abdullahi expressed that the enduring crises within the party have hindered his ability to serve his constituents effectively.

He stated, “The ongoing internal strife and factionalism within the PDP, which has led to a drawn-out party crisis, are negatively impacting my capacity to represent my constituency and fulfill my responsibilities.”

The lawmaker noted that his decision was made after thorough discussions with important stakeholders and political colleagues, highlighting that it was a challenging yet essential choice.

Abdullahi expressed his desire to continue serving the residents of Sabon Gari Federal Constituency beyond party lines, ensuring effective and inclusive representation for all.

He thanked the PDP for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the support and trust he received during his tenure with the party, remarking on the invaluable experiences he gained.

Currently, he holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in the National Assembly.

At this time, he has not revealed any future political plans or affiliations following his departure from the PDP.
