Huge boost for Super Eagles as CAF clears Ndidi for Congo clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is eligible to play against DR Congo in Sunday’s World Cup playoff final.

This is a major boost for Nigeria, as Ndidi’s experience and leadership will be crucial in the team’s quest for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

According to CAF, cautions accumulated during the World Cup qualifiers do not carry over into the playoffs, meaning Ndidi is free to participate in the high-stakes match.

Only confirmed suspensions apply, and Ndidi does not have any outstanding bans. This ruling comes after initial reports suggested he might be suspended due to yellow cards received during the qualifying series.

Ndidi’s availability is a significant advantage for coach Eric Chelle, who had previously lamented the midfielder’s potential absence.
