Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has publicly distanced himself from moves to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement released on Friday, Fintiri made it clear that he does not support any attempt to remove Wike from the party, stressing that such a decision would not be in the best interest of the PDP.

βI categorically dissociate myself from the position of expelling the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Gov. Wike, from the PDP. I believe this decision is not in the best interest of the party, and I will not be party to any attempt that could plunge the PDP into unending crisis,β he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and stability within the party, stressing that reconciliation, not conflict, should be the priority.
The governor appealed to PDP leaders and stakeholders to prioritise healing the divisions within the party, urging them to come together for the overall interest of its future.

Fintiri added that his position is motivated by the desire to see a stronger and more united PDP ahead of future political challenges.
