🔗 Join Our ChannelNigerian street-pop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has announced plans to return to school to deepen his understanding of the music business and career management.
The Zazoo Zehh crooner revealed this in a video shared via his Instagram page on Saturday, where he discussed his decision to balance his fame with a more professional approach to his career and record label, Zeh Nation.
Speaking in the video, Portable disclosed that he already holds a National Diploma (ND) from Kwara State Polytechnic, but feels the need to continue his education in order to manage his brand and finances more effectively.
“Even though I already have an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, I still want to further my education,” he said.
“I sponsor people and my children too because I don’t want a situation where people will say ‘Portable didn’t go to school.’ I want to go back to school to understand my music royalties and business deals better, especially for my record label, Zeh Nation.”

According to the 31-year-old, the move is not about earning another certificate but about acquiring business and management skills that will allow him to oversee his contracts, royalties, and brand activities without depending entirely on others.
Portable, known for his energetic stage performances and unfiltered personality, said his return to school will help him balance his street roots with a more structured career path.
The controversial singer added that understanding how the music industry works from a legal and financial standpoint would help him sustain his brand and support other artists under his label.
Music analysts have described Portable’s move as a positive step toward professionalising Nigeria’s street music culture, which often struggles with poor contract management and a lack of intellectual property awareness.
