According to him, intelligence gathering and information sharing among security agencies must be strengthened to effectively address emerging threats.
“We must move beyond isolated operations and embrace coordinated intelligence-driven strategies. Security agencies working independently will only weaken our collective efforts to keep our communities safe,” he said.
The council chairman also commended security operatives for recently neutralising a security threat within the LCDA but stressed that routine patrols alone would not be enough to tackle evolving criminal activities.
He called for proactive interventions, deliberate policy actions, and sustained vigilance to prevent security challenges from escalating.

Aroyewun further raised concerns about the growing spread of misinformation and fake news, warning that unverified reports often create unnecessary panic and undermine public confidence in security operations.
To address the challenge, he directed security agencies and community leaders to intensify public awareness campaigns and ensure residents receive timely and accurate information regarding security matters.
Responding on behalf of the security agencies, the Divisional Police Officer of Ikorodu Division, CSP Akinola Clement, reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting lives and property.
He pledged enhanced collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders while urging the Community Development Committee to continue promoting compliance with security regulations and organising regular security meetings.
Other stakeholders at the meeting also expressed support for data-driven security initiatives and stronger enforcement measures.
The DSS representative, Mr. Joel Adisa, advocated the introduction of a bye-law that would hold landlords accountable for criminal activities carried out on their properties.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Alhaji Ibiyeye Rasaq, revealed that restrictions had already been placed on scavengers operating in sensitive locations within the council area.
The NSCDC representative, Officer Odunayo Seyi, backed calls for additional bye-laws to strengthen territorial compliance and improve enforcement efforts.
The meeting ended with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to enhanced intelligence gathering, stronger inter-agency cooperation, community sensitisation, and the introduction of legislative measures aimed at improving security across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
