The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its INECPRES online platform for recruitment of ad hoc staff ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Applications open 18th September 2026 and close 18th November 2026 at midnight, giving eligible Nigerians a two-month window to apply. Positions are available for public servants, NYSC corps members (current and recent), tertiary institution students, and ICT professionals across five ad hoc roles including Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers, RAC Managers, and Registration Area Technical Support.
This is a temporary election duty engagement, not a permanent appointment. All information submitted must be accurate and verifiable.
Available Positions
Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs):
- Federal/State public or civil servants on GL 10 to GL 14
- INEC Registration Area Officers and eligible INEC staff not engaged in other duties
- Serving NYSC corps members
- Former NYSC corps members who completed service not more than 3 years before the election (2024, 2025, or 2026)
- Eligible students in Federal and State tertiary institutions (penultimate year, year 2 or year 3)
Presiding Officers (POs) and Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II & III):
- Eligible permanent staff of Federal and State MDAs with OND or NCE qualifications and required grade level
- Eligible staff and students of Federal and State tertiary institutions
RAC Managers:
- Heads of schools or eligible staff of schools hosting Registration Area Centres
- Eligible INEC staff
Registration Area Technical Support (RATECHs):
- IT students from Federal and State tertiary institutions
- Former corps members who served with INEC
- Suitable ICT staff of the Commission not engaged in conflicting current duties
Requirements
- Must fall within one of the eligible categories for the position applied for
- Relevant academic qualifications (OND, NCE, or higher depending on position)
- Required grade levels for public servants where applicable
- ICT background required for RATECH positions
- Availability for election assignment, mandatory training, and deployment activities
- All submitted information must be accurate and verifiable
