The event attracted representatives from various organizations including the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIRO), the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Consumer Advocacy for Food Safety, government bodies, the organized private sector, and other food industry participants.

During his welcome speech, Afolabi Solebo, the General Manager/CEO of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), emphasized that food safety should be seen as both a fundamental right and a collective responsibility.
Solebo urged for enhanced collaboration among stakeholders, ongoing training, improved infrastructure, technology-driven food safety systems, and greater consumer awareness.
He pointed out that every member of the food supply chain—ranging from farmers and processors to transporters, vendors, retailers, and consumers—has an important role to play.
