Women Too Africa Calls for 40 Female Community Trust Anchors to Drive Grassroots Civic Change Across Southwest Nigeria

In a bold step toward deepening women’s leadership and community transformation, Women Too Africa is recruiting 40 dedicated female Community Trust Anchors across Oyo, Lagos, Osun, and Ekiti States under its ROOTS Project.

The opportunity is open to women ready to lead meaningful civic change right where they live, with applications closing on September 21, 2026.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Ibadan, Oyo State, Women Too Africa is a non-governmental organisation committed to empowering women, girls, and communities through education, health, and leadership initiatives.

Its work aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 5 (Gender Equality).

The ROOTS Project represents a focused effort to build lasting community capacity by placing trusted women leaders at the centre of local change. Community Trust Anchors will serve as reliable points of connection and leadership within their communities.

These roles emphasise building trust, facilitating dialogue, supporting local initiatives, and helping translate broader empowerment goals into practical, community-owned action. By recruiting exclusively female Anchors, the project deliberately invests in women’s unique ability to foster inclusion, navigate local dynamics, and create safe, effective spaces for civic engagement.

The positions are available across four key southwestern states—Oyo, Lagos, Osun, and Ekiti—regions with strong cultural and economic ties and significant potential for women-led development.

Successful candidates will work within their own communities, ensuring solutions remain relevant and sustainable. This grassroots approach reflects Women Too Africa’s emphasis on local ownership rather than top-down interventions.

Women living in Oyo, Lagos, Osun, or Ekiti States who feel a strong sense of responsibility toward their communities and are ready to lead with integrity, empathy, and determination.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate commitment to women’s empowerment, good communication and relationship-building skills, and a willingness to engage consistently with residents, local groups, and partners.

Prior experience in community organising, volunteering, education, health outreach, or leadership is valuable but not always essential—passion and reliability matter greatly.
