Explaining the significance of the consultative forum, George said the process ensures that residents’ voices influence budgetary planning.
“This process ensures that every part of Lagos State has a chance to contribute. No community is too small to be heard, and no citizen’s voice is insignificant in shaping our common future. Your inputs here will be captured, considered, and integrated into the Y2026 Budget preparation,” he affirmed.
Community Leaders Make Demands
The Alara of Ilara, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, commended the government’s ongoing efforts but urged it to address urgent developmental gaps in the Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
“We need a General Hospital, and we already have space for it,” the monarch appealed. “We also need industries to come in so that there can be job opportunities for our youth.”

Oba Ogunsanwo also stressed the need for improved road infrastructure, noting the high rate of accidents involving heavy-duty trucks. He urged the installation of traffic lights and road signs to enhance safety and called for more primary schools to serve the growing population.
Calls for Power and Security Boost
The Chairman of Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA, Akogun Wale Anomo, appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to prioritise stable electricity supply and improved security across the Epe Division.
He noted that the relocation of the Oko-Baba Sawmills to the Owu-Agbowa axis has placed additional pressure on existing infrastructure.

“The sawmill supplies about 80 percent of the woodwork used in Lagos and houses approximately 6,500 millers,” Anomo said. “This development places additional strain on our roads, healthcare, and education systems. We need urgent government attention.”
Residents Hopeful for Development
Residents also used the occasion to call for the completion of projects in Orugbo and Oriba, underscoring the importance of equitable development across all communities in the division.
As the state moves toward finalising its 2026 budget, the forum reaffirmed the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring that every division of Lagos, including Epe, benefits from the state’s development blueprint.
