The Lagos State Government has issued a warning to schools against pressuring parents to purchase approved books, uniforms, and stationery exclusively from them.
In a reminder shared by the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) on Sunday, as schools get ready to reopen, parents and guardians were informed of their rights as consumers.

LASCOPA encouraged them to report any issues related to consumer protection. The agency pointed out that after completing their children’s admission process, parents typically receive lists of approved items.
However, parents should not feel forced to buy these items directly from the school if equivalent approved products are available from other suppliers at lower prices.
