Lagos State declares N8.5M as initial deposit towards 2026 Hajj

The Lagos State government has declared the immediate commencement of sales of form and payment of the initial deposit for 2026 Hajj holy Pilgrimage exercise.

According to the Board Secretary, Mr AbdulHakeem Ajomagberin, who issued a statement on Tuesday 12th of August, the Hajj form is N20, 000.00, while the initial deposit for Hajj is N8, 5000, 000.00, pending the conclusion of negotiations with service providers.

Furthermore, Ajomagberin divulged that the initial fair was in alignment with the official announcement made by the National Hajj commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), during a post strategic meeting, schedule for last week in Abuja. While emphasizing on the arrangements put in place for a flexible payment plan, he stressed on how it’s to increase accessibility for intending pilgrims to participate in the spiritual obligation approaching.

The board Secretary emphasised on the need to ensure accountability and transparency in the operations. “It’s essential to note that payments should not be made to any individual. Instead, payment for both the form and Hajj initial deposit must be made through a bank draft, raised in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Welfare Board from any commercial bank and submit the same to the Account department of the board for an official receipt.”

The board expressed ultimate commitment and dedication of the State government in providing a spiritually enriching experience for all intending pilgrims across the state.
