The Lagos State government has mandated the use of reflective jackets for courier riders during night deliveries.
The Ministry of Transportation announced that all courier and delivery service operators in the state must wear reflective jackets from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and ensure that their motorcycles and bicycles are equipped with reflective tapes or markers for improved visibility on the roads.

Mr. Oluwatobi Idowu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport Education and Innovation, stated that delivery companies are responsible for informing their riders about this requirement and ensuring compliance to avoid penalties from enforcement agencies such as the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS).
In light of this new regulation, Glovo Nigeria, a major delivery service in Lagos, has pledged to adhere to the safety measures. General Manager Mr. Lamide Akinola praised the government’s initiative aimed at protecting riders and other road users and announced that the company would provide 3,000 reflective vests at no cost to couriers on its platform within the next month, urging other delivery services to do the same.
