Hundeyin noted that the changes were part of a broader plan to enhance rapid response to distress situations and ensure public confidence in security operations.
Deployment of Eko Strike Force
As part of the fresh strategy, the Command has deployed the Eko Strike Force, a specialised intervention unit, to Lekki and Ajah. The Force will target all forms of criminal activity in the area, ranging from cultism to violent crimes.

“We call on residents to cooperate fully with the intervention team to ensure the success of these operations and maintain safety and security for all,” the Command stated.
Cult Clash Leaves Three Dead
The security upgrade follows an inter-cult clash in Lekki Phase 1 on Sunday, where three suspected cultists were killed. The clash, which broke out around 5:00 a.m. at a security post near Wole Olateju Street, involved rival cult groups.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, personally led joint police teams to the scene, while tactical units under the Elemoro Area Command, including the recently established Anti-Cultism Team, were deployed to contain the violence.
Arrests and Recovery of Weapons
Extensive raids of criminal hideouts across Lekki and Ajah led to the arrest of more than 20 suspects, including individuals identified as Frank Okpara (27), Friday Ebuka (27), and Nwaka Lucky (34), among others.

Security Situation Under Control
The Command assured residents that the situation has since been stabilised. “Currently, normalcy has been fully restored. The public is advised to go about their lawful activities without fear or apprehension,” Hundeyin said.
He further stressed that crime in the Lekki axis is “not alarming”, insisting that ongoing investigations are aimed at arresting fleeing suspects.
Commitment to Public Safety
Reassuring residents, Hundeyin reiterated, “The Lagos State Police Command remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting lives and property. All suspects linked to this heinous crime will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.”
Residents have been urged to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or via the Command’s emergency hotlines.
