🔗 Join Our ChannelThe drive to strengthen science education among young learners received a major boost today as the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) hosted a captivating science quiz competition at the LCDA Secretariat Hall.
The event, organised to promote continuous learning and sharpen critical thinking among pupils and students within the council area, brought together young science enthusiasts who showcased exceptional intellectual capacity. According to the organisers, the competition aims to encourage students to embrace science subjects more confidently, especially because the Lekki axis offers diverse opportunities for science-related careers and technological growth.
Speaking at the event, officials of the LCDA noted that the quiz was designed not only to test academic ability but also to reward diligence, discipline, and commitment among learners. They added that the contest provides a platform to assess ongoing academic activities in schools and to inspire healthy competition among students.
In the Primary School Category, UPE Siriwon clinched the 1st position after an impressive performance. RCM Idata took 2nd place, while RCM Idotun finished 3rd.
At the Senior Secondary School level, Community Senior High School, Lekki, emerged 1st, demonstrating remarkable mastery of scientific knowledge. Community Senior High School, Magbon Segun, secured the 2nd position, while Community Senior High School, Idata Ilagbo, came 3rd.
The event ended with applause and commendations from teachers, parents, and community stakeholders, who praised the initiative of the LCDA leadership in fostering academic excellence and preparing young minds for future scientific breakthroughs.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining educational programmes that will continue to nurture exceptional talents and build a stronger foundation for scientific development in the area.
