During the session, the governor and security chiefs assessed the current security landscape, discussing new challenges and the state’s strategic response.

In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the governor said the meeting allowed for a comprehensive review of emerging threats and the government’s efforts to stay ahead of them.

“Today, I met with the State Security Council to take a closer look at our security situation and ensure we are responding with clarity and good judgment,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu commended the collaborative spirit within the council, noting that the discussions reflected a united approach to preserving the peace Lagos residents currently enjoy.

“Protecting the peace of Lagos is non-negotiable. I valued the honest conversations around the table and the shared commitment to protecting the peace of our state,” he wrote.

The governor concluded by assuring Lagosians of his unwavering dedication to ensuring their safety, stating:
“I remain committed to the peace and security of the lives and property of all Lagosians.”
