Captain of Barau FC, Usman Maidubji says he is delighted to lead his team to glory in the 2026 Kano State Federation Cup.
The Maliya Boys defeated Bichi First FC 3-2 in a pulsating final decided at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The skipper described the historic achievement as a testament of the commitment of the players, coaches and management while appreciating the club’s Grand Patron, DSP Jibrin Barau for his unalloyed support.
“We are very happy to win this trophy for the first time. We stayed patient and brave, and when the moment came, we took it.”
He assured fans of the club that the FA cup success will propel the team in the final round of matches in the ongoing 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season and the national FA cup.
With the result, Barau FC and Bichi First FC will represent Kano State in the President Federation Cup.
