Remo Stars extended their fine form in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with a 2–0 victory over Wikki Tourists at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, on Sunday.

After a cagey first half, the deadlock was broken in the 79th minute when Adama Goita calmly converted to put the Sky Blue Stars ahead. The hosts sealed all three points deep into stoppage time when Alex Oyowah pounced on a loose ball from the goalkeeper to double the lead and secure the win.

Head coach Daniel Ogunmodede lauded his side’s resilience and tactical discipline in seeing off a stubborn Wikki Tourists team.

“It was a tough match, but the boys showed great composure and hunger to win,” Ogunmodede said. “We kept our shape, created good chances, and took them at the right moments. This kind of performance gives us confidence going forward.”

The result lifts Remo Stars to 9th place on the NPFL standings, with a game in hand, as they continue their push for a top-half finish in the ongoing campaign.

The Sky Blue Stars will look to build on this momentum when they face Lobi Stars in their next league outing.
