The Ministry of Justice indicated that findings, including admissions made by Mirabel, affirmed the allegations were untrue. Consequently, the government stated that since no rape took place, there was no perpetrator to prosecute or public safety threat.
Instead of pursuing legal action against her, the Ogun State Government chose a rehabilitative approach after evaluating the circumstances of the case. The Ministry noted that psycho-social rehabilitation was deemed more beneficial and just than criminal prosecution.
