More than 1,000 women from the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State have switched their political allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), motivated by the outstanding leadership and developmental successes of Governor Uba Sani.
The women were officially welcomed into the APC by Kaduna State Woman Leader, Hajiya Maryam Suleiman, also known as Mai Ginau, during a vibrant ceremony at the state party office.

These new members, who come from various political affiliations and professions, expressed that their choice to join the APC was influenced by the visible advancements made under Governor Sani’s administration in his nearly three years in office.
While addressing attendees, Hajiya Suleiman highlighted the mass transition as a testament to the APC’s rising popularity under Governor Sani’s inclusive and community-focused leadership.
She praised the governor for his dedication to empowering women, fostering grassroots development, and implementing policies that enhance the well-being of everyday citizens, which have won him the support of the populace.
“Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the welfare of women and youth throughout Kaduna State. His administration champions inclusiveness, and so I say to all of you—welcome home, because the APC is your home,” she told the enthusiastic audience.
The APC woman leader congratulated the new members on their “bold and wise” choice to align with the party’s progressive vision, assuring them of equal opportunities and fair treatment.
She emphasized that the APC, under Governor Sani, would continue to create opportunities for women to engage actively in governance and contribute to Kaduna State’s development.
Additionally, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, the Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, commended the women for their bravery and insight, indicating that their decision was a significant endorsement of the governor’s leadership and the policies of the APC.
She remarked that Governor Uba Sani’s commendable achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and rural development have set Kaduna on a course for sustainable growth, establishing the APC as the most reliable political party for progress.
“The accomplishments of this administration in under three years are just the beginning of what is to come,” Hon. Tanimu said, encouraging the new members to remain loyal, active, and supportive of the party’s initiatives.
Several defectors at the event expressed their admiration for both Governor Uba Sani and Hajiya Suleiman, recognizing them as leaders who have revitalized faith in participatory politics and inclusive governance.
They committed to fully supporting the APC and promised to rally more women throughout the state to collaborate with Governor Uba Sani in furthering the development of Kaduna State.
