The turnout reflected both the growing acceptance of the programme and the healthcare needs that exist within grassroots communities. Residents from across Zone 2 commended the initiative, describing it as timely, impactful, and responsive to the realities faced by many families who struggle to access quality healthcare due to financial constraints.

Speaking at the outreach, Executive Chairman Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun reaffirmed his administration’s belief that access to quality healthcare should not be determined by economic status.
“Healthcare is not a privilege reserved for a few. It is a fundamental necessity that every resident deserves access to. Our goal is simple: to ensure that no member of our community is denied basic healthcare because of financial limitations or lack of access,” the Chairman stated.
Aroyewun assured residents that the Free Optimal Wellness Outreach would remain a monthly programme under the council’s GLORY Agenda, with all zones within the LCDA scheduled to benefit in a structured and continuous manner.
He also urged residents to embrace preventive healthcare by taking advantage of routine medical checks rather than waiting until health conditions become severe before seeking treatment.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to the team of volunteer medical professionals, healthcare workers, and support personnel whose dedication contributed to the success of the programme.
Also speaking at the event, the Director-General of the Ona Ogo Movement, Professor Nurudeen Oshinlaja, commended the initiative as a practical demonstration of people-centred governance.

According to him, the administration’s social intervention strategy extends beyond healthcare, with plans underway to introduce additional programmes focused on food security, social welfare, and educational support for residents across the LCDA.
“The health outreach is only one component of a broader vision to improve the quality of life of our people. More interventions are being developed to address other critical areas affecting households within our communities,” he noted.
The Free Optimal Wellness Outreach forms part of the healthcare component of the HOA GLORY Agenda and represents the administration’s sustained effort to bridge healthcare gaps at the grassroots level through preventive care, early diagnosis, treatment, and health education.
