The Federal Government has scheduled a partial closure of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road for three months, beginning this Monday, to facilitate ongoing rehabilitation work on several damaged sections of the highway.
Olayiwola Komolafe, the Federal Controller of Works in Ogun State, confirmed that the temporary closure is essential for contractors to proceed with the reconstruction of critical portions of the road.

He noted that the Minister of Works, David Umahi, has instructed Arab Contractors to resume work on the site and expedite the project’s completion.
The closure will affect the segment from Ikorodu Roundabout to Sabo Junction and the stretch from Lagos Cement to the Coca-Cola axis heading towards Sagamu.

During the repair period, motorists traveling from Ikorodu to Sagamu will be diverted onto alternative lanes in a counterflow traffic system. The reconstruction is expected to last for three months to ensure proper construction and curing of the concrete pavement.

To manage traffic flow and mitigate congestion, officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be present along the corridor.
The ministry has urged motorists to cooperate with traffic management personnel and security agencies and has appealed for public understanding regarding any inconvenience caused by the necessary repair works.
