Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of sales and distribution objectives at the regional level, working closely with 3P distributor teams. Core duties include:

– Achieving monthly and annual brand KPIs such as volume, revenue, portfolio mix, and market coverage.

– Executing PepsiCo’s annual operating plans, quarterly, and monthly initiatives in collaboration with distributors and agencies.

– Building and managing relationships with distributor sales forces, wholesalers, and key business partners.

– Identifying and onboarding suitable trade partners while coaching and developing the 3P sales team (including ZSMs, ASMs, and FSEs).

– Implementing activation, merchandising, and trade marketing strategies for effective in-market execution.

– Monitoring competitor activities, conducting market surveys, and providing timely business insights.

– Ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, occupational safety, and cost parameters.

The role demands high travel flexibility, with up to 75% of time spent in the field across regions.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

– 5–7 years of post-tertiary experience in Commerce, Economics, Logistics, or related fields, with at least 5 years at a middle management level in sales and proven results in business transformation.

– Extensive FMCG operational sales and distributor management experience, preferably in foods & beverages with a focus on traditional trade.

– Fluency in Hausa and Kanuri languages.

– Strong team management, analytical, project management, presentation, and leadership skills.

– High business acumen, commercial savvy, and financial awareness.

– Excellent in-market execution skills and channel insights.

– Willingness to work in any region with substantial travel.
