PFN President Wale Oke declares ongoing killings of Christians as Genocide — urges government action

Bishop Francis Wale Oke, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), has stated that describing the current targeted killings of Christians in Northern Nigeria as anything less than genocide is a “desecration” of the memory of countless victims.

In a discussion with reporters in Ibadan on Friday, Bishop Oke made it clear that the scale, organization, and ongoing nature of these attacks “can no longer be debated,” asserting that the situation has escalated beyond isolated incidents into a significant humanitarian crisis.

“Since Donald Trump raised the issue of genocide concerning Nigeria, even more people have been slain in Plateau State,” he remarked, pointing out that the former U.S. President’s concerns reflect the painful reality faced by Nigerians.

He urged authorities at all levels to address the crisis with integrity and dedication, warning that continued silence or minimization of the situation disrespects the victims and encourages the perpetrators.
