The three detained suspects, whose names have not been released, are said to hail from Funtua, Ingawa, and Unguwa Uku in Katsina and Kano States. Initial investigations suggest that the children had been taken from different communities and were being transported to Abuja.
βAll the rescued children are in good health and are currently under the police command’s care,β Hassan remarked, noting that efforts are underway to identify and reunite them with their families.
Hassan also cited Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad, who praised the officers for their rapid action and reiterated the command’s firm stance against child trafficking and exploitation. The suspects will face legal action upon the completion of the investigations.
The police called on parents and guardians to stay vigilant and be cautious of promises that may lure their children to distant cities. Communities were encouraged to report any suspicious actions to the nearest police station for swift intervention.
