His notable career includes serving as military governor of Lagos and Borno States and holding important roles in the Nigerian Army, such as brigade major of the 23 Armoured Brigade and Aide-de-Camp to former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma.

President Tinubu commended Marwa’s accomplishments, describing his reappointment as a strong endorsement of his leadership, and urged him to continue his efforts to combat drug cartels and traffickers threatening the country.
