President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the go-ahead for the creation of forest guards in Nigeria. This initiative aims to oversee 1,129 forests in the fight against terrorists and bandits. He has instructed the National Security Adviser to ensure its complete implementation, beginning with the recruitment of the guards.
This announcement was shared on Wednesday by Sunday Dare, the president’s special adviser on media and public communication, on his official X account.

President Tinubu had earlier warned terrorists that his administration “would not surrender an inch of the country’s territory to terrorists, bandits, and other criminal gangs operating inside the forests.”
He vowed that Nigeria “would take back its forests.”
