The 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season concluded with a dramatic final matchday on May 25, 2025, confirming the four clubs that will be relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.

The teams that suffered relegation are: Lobi Stars, Heartland FC, Akwa United and Sunshine Stars.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs, held in Asaba, Delta State, recently concluded, determining the four clubs that have earned promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.
These teams will replace Heartland FC, Akwa United, Sunshine Stars, and Lobi Stars, who were relegated from the NPFL at the end of the 2024/2025 campaign.
The four promoted clubs are: Wikki Tourists (Bauchi), Barau FC (Kano), Warri Wolves (Delta State) and Kun Khalifat (Imo State).
