What Sanwo-Olu said
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised the strategic importance of Badagry as a historical and economic gateway to five West African countries.
He described the infrastructure investment as part of his administration’s commitment to inclusive development.

“We are determined to harness Badagry’s tourism and economic potential. These road projects are not just about transportation; they are about opening up opportunities, attracting investments, and improving the lives of our people,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The Governor noted that Hospital Road was rebuilt to enhance access to Agbalata Market and several key tourist landmarks, including Nigeria’s first storey building, the Agiya Tree Monument, Slave Trade Relic, and the Heritage Museum.
