Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has joined a host of dignitaries and traditional leaders in mourning the passing of Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the revered Awujale of Ijebuland, who died at the age of 90.

Sanwo-Olu, in a solemn tribute shared via his official platform, described the late monarch as a pillar of leadership, whose enduring reign anchored Ijebuland through generations of change.

Oba Adetona, one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning traditional rulers, ascended the throne in 1960 and ruled for 65 years, a reign that witnessed Nigeria’s independence, multiple republics, and evolving democratic eras.
