The 29-year-old has been sidelined for his club, Chippa United, since returning from international duty. His club coach, Vusumuzi Vilakazi, expressed uncertainty about the goalkeeper’s fitness for the crucial AFCON fixtures.
“I don’t think he will make it, but when I was talking to him, he was confident that he will recover very soon,” Vilakazi told SuperSport.
Nwabali, a former Enyimba and Katsina United player, was a standout performer for the Super Eagles at the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, where his heroics helped guide the team to the final.
