Terrorists have infiltrated 40 local areas in South-West, Gani Adams says 

Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, has voiced that terrorists have infiltrated at least 40 local government areas in the region.

In a recent interview, Adams indicated that the security situation is more perilous than many understand. His group’s investigations have identified the presence of terrorists in numerous local governments among the region’s total of 137.

“We found not just remnants but numerous terrorists in at least 40 local governments,” he noted. Initially, Adams chose to keep this information confidential with the intention of collaborating with state governments to address the threat quietly.

However, he expressed frustration that regional governors have not engaged with his group despite ongoing warnings over the last two years.

Adams highlighted that all factions of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and other local security organizations are prepared to work together to combat criminal activities in the South-West.

He emphasized that addressing insecurity requires more than just weapons, pointing out the importance of intelligence gathering, local insight, multilingual operatives, and even spiritual assistance in the fight against crime. “Everyone must contribute to confront these criminals,” Adams asserted.
