What God revealed to me about the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo — Pastor Adeboye

'I will die peacefully after Sunday Service' - Pastor Adeboye shares vision at RCCG Convention

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), shared what he claims God told him regarding the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

The victims were kidnapped on May 15 from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area. During their captivity, the kidnappers reportedly killed a mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun, and circulated footage of the incident.

In a popular video from the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala in Washington, D.C., Adeboye mentioned that the tragedy led him to fervent prayer.

“I felt compelled to cry out to God because we had been fasting and praying for the subgroup of kidnapped schoolchildren. Some individuals began to question our faith, saying, ‘You are fasting and praying; where is your God?’”

He sought divine intervention regarding the criticism and the situation of the victims. “God spoke to me, assuring me that the release of the children would be dramatic.”

Adeboye noted that God did not specify when or how the victims would be freed but assured him that the matter was in divine hands. “He did not provide a timeline or specifics but also mentioned consequences for those funding terrorism and kidnappings in Nigeria.”

The pastor recounted urging President Bola Tinubu in 2024 to instruct security agencies to effectively combat terrorism and kidnapping.

As per Adeboye, the President later met with him and issued directives to security leaders.

He defended Tinubu against accusations of inaction, stating, “Once the Commander-in-Chief has given orders to his subordinates, he has fulfilled his role. You can’t expect him to don a uniform himself.”
