Zamfara Govt approves recruitment of 3,050 teachers

The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) has approved the recruitment of 3,050 teachers into the state’s basic education system in order to boost its primary and junior secondary school sectors.

 

The approval was signed on Friday, February 27, 2025, by Professor Nasir Anka Garba, Executive Chairman of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), under the leadership of his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal.

 

According to the statement released, the recruitment underscores the unwavering commitment of the current administration to revitalising the education sector and addressing the shortage of qualified teachers across public primary and junior secondary schools in Zamfara State.

The Executive Chairman of ZSUBEB commended His Excellency for his bold and timely intervention, noting that it reflects the administration’s dedication to human capital development and sustainable educational reform.

 

He stated that the recruitment is aimed at improving the teacher–pupil ratio, enhancing the quality of teaching and learning outcomes, expanding access to basic education, especially in underserved communities, and strengthening the overall capacity of the basic education sub-sector.

 

Assuring the general public of a transparent process, the chairman emphasised that the screening will be merit-based and conducted in accordance with extant rules and guidelines.

The Board called on qualified and interested candidates to prepare to take advantage of the opportunity in order to contribute meaningfully to the development of education within the State.

 

The Board further assured the public that details regarding the application procedures, eligibility criteria, and timelines will be communicated in due course through official channels.
